Water Chemistry

Often overlooked is the importance of maintaining your Water Chemistry.

Protect your investment! We encourage you to have your water tested regularly and make the required adjustments to prevent the harmful effects of unbalanced water.

"Clear Water" is NOT an indication of balanced water!

The management of factors such as pH, total alkalinity, calcium harness and water temperature will provide a more enjoyable swimming experience while preventing costly repairs due to corrosion or scaling.

Aquadam Pool Services offers a Water Analysis Program that can help to extend the lifespan of your equipment.

Inital Vacuums

Available as an addtional service, Aquadam Pool Services will complete an Initial Vacuum of your pool at the time of your Opening.

Using leaf nets, our service technicians will remove any large debris from the pool bottom by hand.

A vacuum of the pool is then completed to waste using our pump to avoid any undesirable effects of vacuuming initial debris through your filtration system.

A water sample is taken for analysis, and a detailed report of any required balancing chemicals is provided.

Regarding Pool Heaters

Although all heater drain plugs are reinstalled with any of our Opening Services, Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) regulations require that the lighting of pool heaters be completed by a Licensed Gas Technician.

If required, Aquadam Pool Services can co-ordinate the services of a Licensed Professional to inspect, clean, and light your heater as an additional service.

Following your Opening

Please begin filling the pool to its normal operating level as soon as possible. In the event no one is home at the time of your Pool Opening, Service Technicians will NOT leave your garden hose filling when unattended.

Once the surface water reaches your pools normal operating level, simply turn ON your pump unless instructed otherwise by our Service Technicians.

Salt System Requirements

Due to the water removed in the fall during the closing process, salt water pools in most cases, will require the addition of a small amount of salt each spring.

As well, there are minimum water temperature requirements for the units to function effectively.

For these reasons, your Salt System will not be turned ON at the time of your Pool Opening.

If you have any questions regarding your salt system please do not hesitate to contact us.
